Dr. Morningstar found out earlier this week that he will be presenting research on scoliosis treatment at the 2013 annual meeting of the Society on Scoliosis Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Treatment (SOSORT). His abstracts include research on neurotransmitter imbalance patterns in scoliosis patients, manipulation under anesthesia for the treatment of adult degenerative scoliosis, and is a co-author on research being presented on a new long lever spinal orthosis for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis treatment.

This is the second time his research has been accepted for a SOSORT presentation. Last year, Dr. Morningstar became the president of the International Chiropractic Scoliosis Board (ICSB), a group of chiropractic physicians dedicated to the treatment, correction, and prevention of idiopathic scoliosis. “As scoliosis treatment evolves, chiropractic physicians, due to their educational background, will have a unique opportunity to provide scoliosis patients with more comprehensive care than is currently available in the US,” says Dr. Morningstar.  According to Dr. Morningstar, chiropractic research is beginning to see some interest from the various scientific societies and organizations.
