Elevated CRP levels at the time of diagnosis of breast cancer are associated with reduced overall and disease-free survival and with increased risk of death from breast cancer.
I have noted through the years that many of my patients aren’t fully aware of hsCRP, and that they don’t always know why I test them for it (or care, for that matter). This study was absolutely perfect in showcasing why I care so much about that tiny little number. HsCRP is a measure of inflammation in the body, pure and simple. If you have inflammation in your body, you are a petri dish for many different issues. One of them is cancer. It is always important that we locate the source of inflammation in your body and eliminate it.
